FAQ Frequently Asked Questions

What is Zamak?

Zamak is a metal alloy commonly used for making handles and knobs. It is a combination of zinc, aluminum, magnesium, and copper. The products are surface treated through painting or electroplating to achieve various colors and finishes. At Beslagsbutikken, we offer a wide range of handles and knobs made from Zamak with different surface treatments to match various styles.

What does cc mean?

It refers to the distance between the centers of two holes, usually the distance between the holes for mounting a handle on a cabinet or drawer.

When will I receive my goods? Where is my delivery?

There could be several reasons why you haven't received your goods:

* Incorrect address provided, resulting in the goods ending up at a parcel center or parcel shop.

* Incorrect email address provided, and the carrier cannot contact you. Therefore, the goods are usually at a parcel shop or the carrier's depot.

* The carrier has lost your package, and we need to file a claim and send new goods.

I did not receive an order confirmation?

If you did not receive an order confirmation, there could be several reasons:

* Incorrect email address provided.

* The email ended up in the spam filter.

* The payment did not go through.

* We are missing products to send your order, and we are therefore waiting for a notification of when it can be shipped. Once we know, you will receive an email with the confirmation and updated delivery information.

A screw is missing?

Send a message to our customer service, specifying which screw is missing, or if you need a different length, we will send it for free.

Items are missing from the delivery.

Contact customer service to report the missing items, preferably with a picture of what you received, so we can send the missing items.

A product is damaged or not functioning.

If a product is damaged or not functioning as expected, please contact customer service with a picture or video and a brief description of the problem so we can resolve it.

The color of the items does not match.

We work with various manufacturers who may use different shades for the same surface finish name. To ensure that everything matches, it is best to purchase within the same series or contact customer service to help you avoid ordering items in different shades by mistake.

I received the wrong quantity.

I need help with a hinge question

To assist you faster, we need some pictures and the following details:

* Side thickness (i.e., cabinet side).

* Distance from the edge where the door is drilled, e.g., 4 or 5 mm.

* How much of the cabinet side the door should cover when closed, e.g., a 19 mm cabinet side should be covered by 17 mm of the door.

* Hole spacing to the holes in the cabinet side to the plate, 28 mm or 37 mm, i.e., c/c to the mounting plate.

* Diameter of the hinge cup in mm

* Distance between the holes in the hinge cup in mm

I plan to build a drawer under the bed

Often, you need a slide with a longer extension to achieve this. When a slide gets longer, it automatically becomes stronger and can therefore carry heavier loads. Our tip is to choose a slide that can hold about 100 kg. This way, you get a good and stable solution. If you choose a roller slide, you sometimes lose extension length. If you want something that reaches the deepest, it might be a good idea to choose a full extension slide.

How do I choose hinges?

There is much to consider when choosing hinges. Some important questions that need to be answered are: side thickness (i.e., cabinet side), distance from the edge where the door is drilled, e.g., 4 or 5 mm, so-called K measurement, how much of the cabinet side the door should cover when closed, e.g., a 19 mm cabinet side should be covered by 17 mm of the door, so-called D measurement, hole spacing to the holes in the cabinet side to the plate, 28 mm or 37 mm, i.e., c/c to the mounting plate, diameter of the hinge cup in mm, distance between the holes in the hinge cup in mm. This is the basis for calculating the mounting plate height, given by the formula H = hinge constant + K + (-D), where K is the distance from the drilling in the door to the hinge cup, and D is the value of how much of the cabinet side the door should cover. If you have a 19-20 mm frame that should be fully covered, the hinge needs to have an A arm (Crank), and the hinge constant is 15. If you have a 16 mm frame that should be fully covered, the hinge needs to have a D arm (Crank), and the hinge constant is 10. If you have a side that should be half-covered, the frame width doesn't matter (D=0), and you need a G arm (Crank), and the hinge constant is 6. If you have a door that should be inset, the frame width doesn't matter (D=0), and you need a P arm (Crank) (for Mini hinges series 100, the arm for inset hinges is called S), and the hinge constant is -2.

I plan to build a drawer under the stairs

Often, the space under the stairs is not optimally used or is hard to access. With our slides, it becomes easy to utilize this space. Our tip here is to choose a ball slide. Ideally, a stronger model variant, so you can use one half as a guide rail at the top of the drawer if it is tall, as it doesn't have a drawer closing like a roller slide usually does.

Are there slides that can be mounted on the bottom of the cabinet?

Yes, there are, see Drawer Slide - SALICE Shelf 65559 Smove. This solves this problem, alternatively FR 9000, which is our professional profile for long, complicated, heavy extensions. Often used by contractors or rescue services.

Is the Futura slide available in both Push-To-Open and Soft-Close?

Yes, it is, and the Futura range is the slide to use in kitchen constructions. Note: A Push-to-Open slide will break if you forcefully pull it out.
